COMMUNITY CENTER / SOCIAL HALL

Basic Information

The community center and social hall facility will seat up to 225 with the provided rectangular reception tables and chairs.  There is room for a dance floor for wedding receptions and other party events. It has a very large kitchen and modern restrooms. The kitchen includes a double oven, a microwave, a refrigerator/freezer, and an ice-making machine.  You may hire the caterer of your choice and alcohol is permitted. (See Food and Alcohol Policies below.)

The facility has been used for many, many family and business events including: family reunions, wedding receptions, birthday and anniversary parties, employee meetings, auctions, etc.  It also has been used by local girl and boy scout troops, the Greater Waverly Area Foundation, and other community groups.

Rental Information

  • Reservations may be made up to 15 months in advance of the activity for any open date.
  • Reservation requests will be granted according to the order that they are received.
  • Building use agreement must be signed and deposit paid within fifteen (15) days of WCF's acceptance of reservation request.
  • Evening activities are to end by 1:00am and the building vacated by 2:00am.
  • The key may be picked up as arranged with the WCF prior to the day of the event and must be returned to the designated drop box with a completed checkout list at the end of the event.
  • Cancellations must be received a minimum of two weeks prior to the reservation date or a fee of 25% of the rental fee will be assessed.
  • The Foundation reserves the right to require security at certain types of events.
  • The Waverly Community Foundation reserves the right to restrict building use for activities not specifically covered in these policies and to individuals or groups who have violated conditions of the Building Use Agreement.

Food and Alcohol Policies

  • Alcohol may be brought in and served by the party reserving the building under the general requirements of the State of Nebraska, provided that there is no sale of said alcohol.
  • Sales of any alcoholic beverages must be under the auspices of a licensed vendor. Reserving party is responsible for securing licensed vendor. An agreement between the vendor will be required.
  • Food is not to be prepared in the building, but may be heated and prepared for serving using the facilities provided.
  • Cleaning of facilities and removal of food is to be completed according to the checkout list, which will be provided at the time the key is picked up.
  • A list of caterers and/or vendors is available upon request.

Building Use Restrictions

  • Smoking is prohibited anywhere inside the building.
  • Use of recreational wheeled devices (skateboards, roller blades, etc.) is prohibited.
  • Weapons are prohibited.
  • Use of aerosol paints, sand, and graphite are prohibited inside the building.
